"Nabulsi Kunafa: The Irresistible Golden Delight"

Ingredients:

  • Half a kilogram of Kunafa.
  • Akkawi cheese.

    For the syrup:
  • 1 cup of sugar.
  • 1 cup of water.
  • 1 tablespoon of ghee.
  • Ghee.
  • White honey.
  • Lightly salted mozzarella cheese.

Instructions:

1- Place the kunafa in a food processor and blend it. Then, soak the cheese in water for half an hour, changing the water until the salt is removed.


2- To make the syrup, combine sugar and water in a pot over heat, stirring well. Then, add the ghee and stir again. Let it cool.


3- Grease a baking tray with ghee and optionally add yellow food coloring. Mix the kunafa with ghee and white honey, stirring them well.


4- Press the kunafa mixture into the tray, add more ghee on top, then layer the mozzarella cheese on top. Cook it over heat, turning the tray for about 20 minutes.


5- Pour the syrup over the kunafa, and enjoy!


6- For an alternative method, follow the same steps but add an additional layer of kunafa with melted ghee and bake it in the oven.
