"Indulge in the Magic of Layaly Lebanon: A Heavenly Dessert Experience"
Ingredients:
- 1 cup minus 1/4 cup semolina (semolina flour).
- 1 liter milk.
- 1 cube butter.
- 1/4 cup sugar.
- 3 mastic gum pieces ground with 1 teaspoon sugar.
- 2 tablespoons rose water or orange blossom water (or vanilla if you prefer).
For the second layer (cream): - 1 packet whipped cream powder.
- 1/2 cup milk.
- 1 can of cream.
- 1 tablespoon rose water or orange blossom water or vanilla.
For the syrup: - 1/2 cup water.
- 1/2 cup sugar.
- Juice of half a lemon.
- 1 teaspoon rose water.
Instructions:
1. In a pan, combine milk, sugar, semolina, and a cube of butter.
2. Grind two mastic gum pieces with a teaspoon of sugar, then add them to the milk.
3. Stir the mixture and add rose water or vanilla.
4. Continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
5. Transfer it to a baking dish and let it cool completely.
6. In a bowl, combine the cream, milk, whipped cream powder, and rose water.
7. Mix them well until you achieve a thick consistency.
8. Spread this cream mixture over the first layer and refrigerate for one day.
9. Then, decorate as desired and enjoy!
